Fort Wayne bike share station opens at ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï

ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï today officially opened its new bike share station as part of the City of Fort Wayne’s bike share program. ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï President Dr. Arthur Snyder and Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry were joined by Tech students, city and community representatives for a ribbon-cutting event at the university’s campus in Fort Wayne.
The new station is located on the north side of Andorfer Commons on the ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï campus, at the corner of East Washington Boulevard and Schick Street. Students, along with members of the public, may check out bikes from the station 24 hours a day.
ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï’s station on the Fort Wayne bike share program is the sixth station in and around downtown Fort Wayne. The City, in partnership with the 2015 Leadership Fort Wayne class and Zagster, Inc., launched the first five bike share stations in April 2016. Anyone can ride by purchasing a day pass or joining with a monthly or annual membership. Rides for members are free for up to an hour, then $3 per hour after. Bike share allows us to do both of these things at once. Students now have a convenient way to travel downtown and beyond, and to make use of our wonderful trail system, from a bike station located in the heart of campus. And, community members now have one more method for getting to our campus for athletic events, meetings, events in our theaters and art gallery, and more.â€
